What is a Connection?

Last updated on Mar 24, 2026

A connection is an authenticated link between Redbark and one of your financial institutions (e.g. your bank).

When you connect a bank, you are taken to your bank's website to authorise Redbark to access your account data via Open Banking. This is the same secure consent process used across Australia under the Consumer Data Right (CDR).

A single connection can include multiple accounts. For example, connecting your everyday bank might give Redbark access to your transaction account, savings account, and credit card all at once.

Connections remain active for up to 12 months (a CDR requirement), after which you may need to reconnect.
